Description
Nixon’s 36x48 Majestic View of the Blue Ridge is an original acrylic painting on gallery wrapped canvas. I was inspired by an amazing view of the Blue Ridge Mountains after a storm. The sky was clear and free from smog. The view overlooked a nearby county, Madison, Virginia. The Blue Ridge was enhanced by the horizontal fluffy clouds creating a sense of peace and tranquility. The rolling hills danced across this majestic scene below and the bright colored meadows sparkled excitement. The mist rose and one could inhale the fresh air and enjoy the cool breeze descending from the mountains.
Rich impasto textures inherit the foreground along with brilliant yellows, blues and greens. Yellow orange lights splashes across the clouds and around the mountainous range. A road travels across the foothills to the valley below. What a majestic scene to behold!
