Nixon's Golden Splendor in Luray is an original 18x24 acrylic landscape painting on stretched canvas. Overlapping diagonal lines with hay bells directs the viewer into this peaceful, serene scene based on an actual landscape in Luray, Virginia. The majestic Blue Ridge Mountains are in the background. The thick impasto foliage in the foreground directs the eye into the composition. The hay bells decreasing in size slowly directs the eye to a country home with evergreens and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background. A beautiful tree in its splendor on the left side redirects the viewer back into the painting. The bright vibrant colors of this peaceful, serene landscape painting will brighten one' home or office with the joy of a happy, stress free scene.

It engages all of the senses; touch, smell, taste, and sight. Now, I am in my studio. Splashes of colorful washes are applied to a blank canvas. My palette is loaded with bright complementary colors. The sense of touch is enlightened through the application of modeling paste, tissue paper, or found objects, natural or man-made.
